Refund Policy

A legal disclaimer

1. Deposits

Deposits are used to reserve project dates, plan labour, and purchase materials.

Unless otherwise stated in writing:

  • deposits are non-refundable once materials have been purchased or work has been scheduled

  • if the Client cancels before materials are purchased and before scheduling is committed, a partial or full refund may be issued at our discretion, less any costs already incurred

  • if work has already started, the deposit will be applied toward labour, materials, and other project costs already incurred

2. Cancellations by Client

If the Client cancels a confirmed project, any refund will depend on the stage of the job.

  • Before materials are purchased and before scheduling: possible full or partial refund

  • After materials are purchased or scheduling is reserved: refund may be reduced or unavailable

  • After work begins: no refund for work performed, materials used, or non-recoverable costs

The Client remains responsible for:

  • materials already purchased for the project

  • labour already completed

  • non-refundable supplier charges

  • any other reasonable costs directly related to the project

3. Completed Services

Once services have been substantially completed, refunds are generally not provided.

If the Client has concerns about workmanship, Bilasuvar Painting must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the issue and, where appropriate, correct any deficiency covered by our workmanship warranty before any refund is considered.

4. Workmanship Issues

If there is a problem caused directly by our workmanship, we may choose, at our discretion:

  • to repair the affected area

  • to provide touch-ups

  • to redo the affected portion of the work

  • to offer a partial refund where appropriate

Refunds will not be issued for issues caused by:

  • normal wear and tear

  • moisture, leaks, water damage, humidity, or structural movement

  • pre-existing surface defects

  • client-supplied materials

  • colour choice after approval

  • manufacturer defects

  • damage caused by others after completion

5. Materials

Paint, coatings, and other materials ordered specifically for a Client’s project are generally non-refundable, especially where:

  • the materials are custom tinted or special order

  • the supplier does not accept returns

  • the materials have already been opened, delivered, or used

Any refundable portion, if available, will be limited to the amount actually recoverable from the supplier.

6. Delays and Rescheduling

If a project is postponed or rescheduled, deposits may be retained and applied to the new project date.

If the Client repeatedly delays the project or fails to provide access within a reasonable time, Bilasuvar Painting may treat the project as cancelled and apply the deposit toward losses, administrative time, and reserved scheduling.

7. Refund Method

Any approved refund will generally be issued using the original payment method where possible. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or financial institution.

8. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any rights the Client may have under applicable consumer protection law.

In Ontario, there is no general legal rule requiring a business to offer refunds just because a customer changes their mind, unless the contract or a specific law says otherwise.

For certain home renovation or repair contracts signed in the consumer’s home, Ontario provides a 10-day cooling-off period, and if the work started during that period, the contractor may still be entitled to reasonable compensation for work and materials already provided.
